Bobcats Waive Jeff McInnis
The Bobcats waived point guard Jeff McInnis on Friday Febuary 29th, a move intended to make Raymond Felton the full-time point guard.
McInnis, who grew up in Charlotte and played for North Carolina, was acquired from New Jersey in a January 2007 trade. The Bobcats re-signed him to a one-year, $1.2 million contract in August.
McInnis started 26 of the 54 games he played this season, averaging 4.5 points and 4.1 assists.
This move ends the experiment of using Raymond Felton as the primary shooting guard. Coach Vincent had been using McInnis and Felton together for a small backcourt. Bobcats new addition Earl Boykins will backup Felton at point guard with the departure of McInnis.
